Authors' Guidelines


1. Manuscript Types

IJABAS accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles: Detailed studies presenting new and significant findings.
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive analyses of specific topics within basic and applied sciences.
  • Short Communications: Brief reports of preliminary research or novel techniques.
  • Case Studies: In-depth analyses of specific instances relevant to the journal's scope.

2. Manuscript Preparation

a. General Formatting

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English.
  • File Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Page Layout: Use A4 or Letter size, with 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Font: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font for the main text.
  • Line Spacing: Single-spaced throughout the manuscript.
  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers in the bottom right corner.

b. Manuscript Structure

  • Title Page:
    • Title: Concise and informative; avoid abbreviations.
    • Authors: Full names of all authors, with affiliations indicated by superscript numbers.
    • Affiliations: Institutional addresses of all authors.
    • Corresponding Author: Name, email address, and telephone number.
  • Abstract: A single paragraph of up to 250 words summarizing the study's purpose, methods, key findings, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Up to six keywords reflecting the manuscript's content (minimum 3).
  • Main Text:
    • Introduction: Present the background, rationale, and objectives of the study.
    • Materials and Methods: Provide sufficient detail to allow replication of the study.
    • Results: Clearly and concisely present the findings, using tables and figures as appropriate.
    • Discussion: Interpret the results in the context of existing knowledge, highlighting the study's significance and limitations.
    • Conclusions: Summarize the main findings and their implications.
  • Acknowledgments: Recognize individuals or organizations that supported the research.
  • References: List all cited works in a consistent format.

c. Figures and Tables

  • Figures: Submit high-resolution images in JPEG or PNG format.
  • Tables: Create tables using the Word table function; avoid using tabs or spaces for alignment.
  • Captions: Provide descriptive captions for all figures and tables.

d. References

  • Citation Style: Use the API referencing style.
  • In-Text Citations: Include author(s) and year (e.g., Smith, 2020).
  • Reference List: List all references alphabetically by the first author's last name.

3. Submission Process

  • Online Submission: Manuscripts should be submitted through the IJABAS online submission system.
  • Cover Letter: Include a cover letter stating the manuscript's significance and confirming that it is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Conflict of Interest Statement: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

4. Ethical Considerations

  • Authorship Criteria: All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research.
  • Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism.
  • Data Availability: Authors should be prepared to provide raw data upon request.

5. Post-Acceptance

  • Proofreading: Authors will receive proofs for correction before publication.
  • Open Access: IJABAS is an open-access journal, and all articles are freely available online.
